Continuous Wildfire

I was raised on the back of inevitable destruction

Humped over like a camel

The straw that broke it was never whole

It came with the pieces so thin, even a sliver of thread couldn’t compare

I often wonder if the ways of my wrecking come from my Father

But I didn’t know him

So, the fire continues to burn brighter the next time

Lighting up anything it’s path

Like a California wildfire
